Regions Bank wants to drive away with car dealer Eddie Accardi’s Pompano Beach house.

The bank filed a foreclosure lawsuit July 11 against Accardi over his 2,896-square-foot beachfront home – where he keeps his homestead. It concerns a $2.25 million mortgage issued in June 2008.

Robert W. Pyles, who represents Regions Bank in the lawsuit, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Among his holdings, Accardi has owned a Mazda dealership and a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Subaru dealership in Pompano Beach. Chrysler Financial Services America filed a foreclosure lawsuit against that dealership in 2009, but the case was settled last year and Accardi maintained control of the dealership.

Eddie Accardi is now retired and his son, Joey Accardi, runs the dealership, which now goes by the name Subaru of North Broward. The website no longer mentions Chrysler Dodge Jeep or Mazda.

Attempts to reach Accardi through the dealership and an attorney from a previous matter were unsuccessful.
